Terrible Lizards released October 29, 2026 on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, priced $24.99 with a launch discount to about $20, and it's on Xbox Game Pass from day one Dev Dev. It is single-player only Official. A Switch 2 version is hoped for but not announced Dev.
Release date
October 29, 2026, simultaneously on all three platforms Dev. The date was announced on August 28, 2026 Dev, the demo arrived on September 24 Dev, and patch 1.0.9 followed on October 30.
Price
$24.99. For roughly the first few days to a week, depending on platform, a launch discount brings it closer to $20 Dev; on Steam that was $19.99 (−20%) at our check Official. It is a complete game with no chapters sold separately Dev. Prices in other currencies vary by store.
PC (Steam)
Windows only, with Steam Achievements, full controller support and Family Sharing Official. No macOS or Linux build is listed; a launch-week Steam thread asks about Linux, and Valve's Proton is the usual route there (unsupported by the developer).
Xbox & Game Pass
On Xbox Series X|S and in Xbox Game Pass at launch Dev. Steam forum reports mention playing via Game Pass on PC, so the PC Game Pass version exists too. Only Xbox Series X|S is listed — no Xbox One version.
PlayStation 5
Out on PS5 at the same price Dev. The PS5 trophy list has 16 trophies including a platinum — see trophies. Only PS5 is listed — no PS4 version. Physical editions have not been announced.
Nintendo Switch 2
Not announced. WDR is “hopeful about a Switch 2 version in the future” and says it depends on how the game performs Dev. No original Switch version is mentioned.
Steam Deck
The demo added a dedicated Steam Deck graphics preset alongside low, medium, high and epic Dev, so the team targeted it. Check the Steam store page for Valve's current Deck compatibility rating before buying, since we could not confirm it.
Free demo
A free PC demo launched on Steam on September 24, 2026, in two parts: a story-focused section and a gameplay-focused section that unlocks after the first Dev. The demo is packaged differently from the full game, but its fixes were carried into the release build Dev. Get the demo on Steam ↗

Multiplayer & co-op
No. Terrible Lizards is single-player only on every platform — no co-op, online or split-screen Official Official. WDR calls it a single-player journey, and there are no announced plans to add multiplayer. Its Dead by Daylight tie-in is a reward code, not a crossover mode — see DBD rewards.
