Terrible Lizards has 4 levels (Steam's achievements are literally “Finish Level 1” to “Finish Level 4”) Official, played as one continuous 6–10 hour story with a single ending Dev. Level 1 is the museum and gift shop, Level 2 the digsites, and Levels 3–4 go deeper into rail caverns and beyond.
The day-after patch fixed several progress blockers — a Stella call that locked buttons, a title screen that stuck into gameplay, instant deaths entering slides, a fuse in the second Allosaurus hunt and levels that failed to load Dev. If you are stuck, check crash & bug fixes first.
How the game is structured
WDR Studios describes the loop as: enter a new space, learn a mechanic, get tested by harder platforming, then a chase — broken up by slower exploration, “light environmental puzzles” and open hunt/arena sections where a dinosaur roams while you complete objectives Dev. In practice almost every puzzle is one of three things: find a code, carry fuses to a panel, or restore power with switches/generators.
| Level | Main areas | Threat | Codes | Steam unlock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lobby, theater, exhibits, Dilo Dash, backstage, gift shop & basement | Mascot, Brontosaurus | 9216 1903 | 73.3% |
| 2 | Generators, foreman's tower, caverns, elevator shaft, gondola, dynamite arena | Brontosaurus | 0451 0978 1677 0180 | 41.9% |
| 3 | Train area, Allosaurus hunting grounds, freight area, rail cavern | Allosaurus | — | 18.9% |
| 4 | Deep blue caverns, crew lift camp, Cavern A/B, lift to the surface | Hybrid & more | — | 14.4% |

Level 1 — Dalton's Dinos
Your car dies outside the attraction; a ringing payphone pulls you inside Community. Entering the attraction unlocks Welcome to Dalton's Dinos (99.5% of players).
Reception & theater
- In the main hall, collect the two halves of a torn note: one on the Allosaurus fossil's hand (climb the rocks to reach the fingers), one at the base of the Brontosaurus fossil. Together they give the employees-only keypad code
9216Community Community. - Take the token from the counter to get through to the theater.
- In the theater, grab the fuse from the table, seat it in the box next to the video player with three timed presses, then restart the pre-show with the player's switch.
Exhibits & Dilo Dash
- Restore the gate by flipping three switches: one on a dinosaur body, one up a stage balcony reached via branches, and a lever reached by parkour from the security room Community. The security room is also where you pick up the headset that lets Stella talk to you while you move Dev.
- Dilo Dash: cross the platforms without touching the electrified floor. You win a token — redeem it for the dino flashlight. You need it for the basement.
- Backstage, ride a moving dinosaur to the drop-off, take the button from the boxes and fit it to the console; the asteroid rolls out — run through the gap it opens.
Gift shop, basement & the first Bronto
- Go through the shop's office side (watch the VHS tape there for story), then open the basement with
1903— the code is shown in your objective and at the keypad Community Community. - Collect the three floodlight fuses in the basement. Upstairs, seat them in the pillar boxes on the office, toys and arcade sides, then pull the levers above the pillars. A mascot follows you while you do this: put distance between you before stopping at a box.
- The Brontosaurus chase follows. Guides advise walking rather than sprinting while it searches, then running flat out once the exit is destroyed, into the caverns.
Finishing the level awards Welcome to the Underground.
Level 2 — The digsites
Below the attraction are the excavation and mining operations visitors never saw Dev. Route per Into Indie Games' chapter two guide Community:
- Two generators. The first sits behind a button-operated door and an auxiliary-powered door; the second is reached through a crawl space and a lift. Timed doors are the challenge here.
- Foreman's tower. Climb the stairs; the office keypad is
0451. The red button opens the base gate. A camera sits on a table past the button. - Bronto chase after the cutscene, then a broken bunker keypad: collect the repair parts, fix it and enter
0978. - Caverns introduce balancing on narrow beams; the Bronto returns in the crawl spaces. Throw three sub-switches (in two rounds) to open the auxiliary door.
- Elevator shaft. Stella reads you
1677over the headset for the keypad by the lift. A spare fuse is on the table to the right of the fuse box. - Gondola & padlock. The padlock key is inside the gondola after you climb the big rock. Another Bronto hunt near the end — make a U-turn and run.
- Dynamite locker in the safe house:
0180. Plant four dynamite (three in the outer hallway, one behind the structure under the lights), run the red wire to the detonator, and survive the arena.
One guide also lists a worksite door code 7652 shown on a monitor as “Today's Door Code” Community. Finishing the level awards That's DINO-mite! and, if you linked it, the Dead by Daylight charm code (how to claim).
Level 3 — Rail & freight caverns
The Allosaurus takes over as the main hunter. Community routes describe Community:
- Train area and Allosaurus hunting grounds near the train tunnels; dynamite clears blocked passages.
- Freight area: wall-run sections, platform controls, a fuse box and then a yellow generator.
- Rail cavern: a central panel needs four fuses — from the generator-enclosure bench, the ground-floor office, the upper wooden office, and the locked Shed (its key is in an elevated cabinet). This is the “second Allo hunt” whose fourth fuse could fail before patch 1.0.9 Dev.
The level-complete achievement is Slime-o-saurus (18.9% on Steam two days after launch).
Level 4 — The deep & the way out
WDR Studios deliberately kept the late-game locations out of its marketing Dev, so this section stays structural. According to 9Puz Community:
- Deep blue caverns: a counterweight puzzle, a meeting with DJ, and a creature encounter where both guns jam — you still cannot fight back. An Allo tooth is needed for DJ.
- Crew lift camp: restore the camp lights, blast into Cavern B and find the crew lift key; a cliff chase follows on the way back.
- The lift: a creature forces Jordan off, and you catch the moving elevator via a wall-run route, then ride up.
- A dark passage, a short cave and a ladder lead to the surface. Credits roll to “Yellow Line” by The Civil Swingers Dev. That's Finally, and New Game Plus unlocks — see NG+ modifiers.
For what the ending means, see Story & ending (spoiler-gated).
Stuck? Common soft-locks
- Buttons stop responding after a Stella call — fixed in 1.0.9; reload the last checkpoint after updating Dev.
- Invisible wall after boulders fall in the second Bronto hunt — fixed in 1.0.9.
- Fourth fuse won't work in the second Allo hunt — fixed in 1.0.9.
- Level won't load / loads forever — partly fixed in 1.0.9; players still report it on Steam Community. See fixes.
- A code “doesn't work” — one guide lists the reception code as 3929 instead of 9216 Community. Always trust the note halves in your own game.
